CLAIRE
SANJA
DEVON

Claire met her friends while visiting the clinic each week. Every child there has its own story. But all parents share the same experiences of being struck with the news of their child's illness and coping with hospital stays, clinic visits, blood tests, spinal taps, bone marrow biopsies, the operating room, and sometimes transplant. Although it may seem like a sad place, the clinic is actually filled with children's laughter as they paint, read, watch movies, learn karate, prepare pizza, kick the ball or make puzzles while waiting for their tests and meds. It is filled with their parents hopes of treatments and cures.
Claire likes going to the clinic. In part because she gets to do a lot of activities that she can't do at home. But also because she gets to see her friends.
Sanja just turned two. Devon will be 3 in January. Claire is already 3, being one year older then Sanja.
We, their parents, have a date, that we really want to keep: that in 20 years from now we will look at this page containing our beautiful daughters' college graduation pictures.
Let's keep our fingers crossed and pray for it.

Please look here at picture with Claire's caregivers from the clinic: Dr Marcus, Dr Shereck (both are Claire's doctors and either one is checking her each Thursday), Linda (her nurse), Karen (her social worker), Rochelle (her child life specialist). I am calling each of them as being Claire's because this is how she considers them.
